As I was putting this newsletter together, I realized that the last one was a New Year’s greeting. Time can fly by so quickly, and so much can happen.
At geminiptc, we’ve focused primarily on three topics this year:
First, together with our client s.a.d., we have redefined the concept of public transit acceleration. We are currently in the midst of major transition projects, moving from the traditional, analog r09 control system to a modern approach using V2X technology. Our projects in Hamburg and Berlin have kept us quite busy, and we are very proud of what we have achieved. On the other hand, a new area of focus has emerged at geminiptc. We are currently providing increasing support to transportation companies in analyzing and improving their IT infrastructure for public transit operations. As companies’ systems become increasingly complex, they require continuous support and timely adaptation. Here, we benefit from the fact that we have focused primarily on the interplay between ITCS, passenger information, depots and workshops, all the way through to sales systems. We analyze the entire information chain and data flows, and our expertise allows us to precisely identify which systems need to be adapted to obtain better and more reliable data. In particular, the complex issue of passenger information during service disruptions can be optimized in this way, ensuring that passengers receive consistent information.
The benefit for transportation companies: We identify manual tasks in the process chain that are prone to errors and require a lot of manpower, and we provide quick solutions.
In addition, we have taken a close look at the topic of school transportation this year. Our client, Stadt Land Netz from Dresden, has developed innovative software to support local governments, schools, and transportation companies in managing school and passenger transportation. Administrations are relieved of the burden of issuing student tickets, and transportation companies receive software for route optimization. Feel free to check it out here: https://stadtlandnetz.de/.
